Today I read a very short piece hosted by dailysciencefiction.com . Vance posted about this on his twitter, and I immediately went to check it out (p.s. if you want me to read your stuff put it in front of me like that) and I am glad that I did.
The piece is a very dreamy waltz through a cyberpunk cityscape, but it is completely anti-dystopian. Vance is able to work in cyberpunk tropes without the bleakness that normally comes from the genre, and that makes this piece very refreshing.
The only real critique I have of this piece is based soley on Vance’s twitter. There was not a single sword anywhere to be seen.
